Wanting a fair price on a trip isn’t a bad thing. In fact, that is what you have a travel agent for…researching, comparing and planning your perfect trip at a fair price.  Unfortunately, what I hear more than I would like to is, ” what cheap deals do you have right now?” Or, “keep an eye out for a cheap deal and call me.”

Is this REALLY what one wants?? Cheap?

Synonyms: low-grade, poor quality, third-rate, worthless, substandard… you get the idea.

“You get what you pay for” is a something we all are familiar with. Travel, by no means, is excluded from this concept. If anything, it holds even more value than some other things in life we may be able to let slide…a burger, a shirt from Target, but not a trip!

Let me ask you this. If you had to choose between the following options to save a few bucks, what two would it be?  Airfare (cramped seats, common delays, etc.), lodging (comfort and cleanliness), location (beachfront, close to things, etc.), food (we all love our good food!), safety or experiences. Go ahead, pick two. Not so easy is it. They are all of significant importance when it comes to travel and your ideal trip. You have worked hard and sacrificed doing other things to make this trip happen. Don’t you want that hard work to show for something? Of course you do. A beautiful trip, just the way you envisioned it. .

Here is another thought for you. And something most people do not even consider. Do you really want to vacation with “cheap trip” seekers? Think about those around you…their standards, their maturity, their ability to devalue your trip. Value is relevant not only in your cost, but in the outcome of your experiences.  “Cheap trip seekers” or “trip of a lifetime investors.”
